Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mads now calls Toronto home. For the past six years, she’s been living her best life in the city, creating fashion magic through her business, Style by Mads.
"I’m a full-time personal stylist with my company, Style by Mads, and I also teach fitness classes at Equinox on the side, which I absolutely love," she explains. Her career is not just about work—it’s about passion. Mads has seamlessly turned her love for shopping, fashion, and styling into a full-time gig, while still finding time to stay active and explore new fitness classes.
From Doll Outfits to Confidence-Building Ensembles
Mads’ love for fashion runs deep.
"I’ve been into fashion for as long as I can remember. My mom dressed me in iconic outfits from day one, and I truly credit my fashion sense to her taste," she reminisces. Even as a child, Mads would sketch outfits in her journals and style her American Girl dolls for “big events” like family dinners. Now, as a seasoned stylist, her fashion philosophy is all about confidence:
"The motto at my company is ‘look great, feel great,’ because I believe that when an outfit checks all your boxes, your confidence—and personality—truly shine." When asked how her personality influences her style, she describes herself as "classic, but with a twist," always open to trying something new—both in life and in fashion.
Mads' Fall Favorites: A Masterclass in Modern Styling
When it comes to her go-to brands, Mads knows exactly where to shop.
"My 3 favorite brands to wear are Aritzia, Reformation, and Zara. I can always rely on either of those three to find something cute!" she shares.
Her current fall wardrobe staple? Leopard print.
"I’ve been having so much fun with leopard print!" she gushes. Her favorite fall look includes a leopard print top from Aritzia, pants from Zara, and Adidas sneakers for a sporty yet chic vibe. And her secret to elevating any look? Fun eyewear.
"My secret styling tip is getting a pair of fun glasses. I think they make you stand out in the best way," she reveals, showing off her go-to Warby Parker frames.

"Developing your personal style is all about trial and error. Don’t be afraid to try new things and step out of your comfort zone—you won’t know what works for you until you try!" Her approach to finding the right look involves a bit of fun.
"Something I like to do with clients is visit a bigger store, like Zara or H&M, and try on a variety of styles. This helps us get a sense of what works and what doesn’t without spending any money," she explains. "Then you can take what you tried there and apply it to future shopping!"
